Vynleads Haven: More Life at Home

Vynleads Haven is a robot concept for taking on everyday care work, so older adults can stay in the homes they love. The same design could support people with limited mobility and assisted-living teams. Haven is a concept in development: the visualizations on this page show proposed design and behavior; they do not demonstrate hardware performance.

Choose the help you need

Getting a meal ready and carrying it to a chair may call for help even when someone can eat independently. Haven is intended to take on parts of a routine while leaving the person to do what they want to keep doing. In assisted living, that also means working around each resident’s preferences and the staff responsible for their care.

At home: Your routines, in the home you love.

Haven would adapt when furniture, mobility aids, or the person’s needs change.

  1. Make it yours. Agree on helpful routines, accessible controls, allowed rooms, objects, and quiet times.
  2. Prepare the day. Bring selected clothes and essentials to agreed places. Let the person choose how much help to accept.
  3. Help with the everyday. Fetch and set down approved items, support meal setup, and help arrange the home around a person’s routine.
  4. Keep people connected. Start chosen calls or reminders and share only the updates the person has authorized.
  5. Finish and stand by. Verify the result, explain any unresolved task, and return to an agreed parking or charging location.

With care partners: More support, with clear responsibility.

Controls and placement locations must work from the person’s bed, chair, or wheelchair.

  1. Agree on authority. Identify what the resident directs and what an authorized care partner may arrange. Distress or refusal calls for human attention.
  2. Put useful things in reach. Use accessible placement locations and approved objects, with controls suited to the person’s abilities.
  3. Prepare personal routines. Arrange clothing, towels, grooming items, or compatible equipment before a care task begins.
  4. Ask for the right help. Explain when an action requires a person, specialist equipment, or a separately qualified capability.
  5. Keep handover clear. Report completed and unresolved tasks without treating a robot notification as accepted human responsibility.

Assisted living: Individual attention in a shared setting.

A task must stay with the correct resident across staff shifts and shared spaces.

  1. Identify the right resident. Check room, resident, belongings, task, and staff authority before access or delivery.
  2. Coordinate the work. Respect scheduled care, corridor access, staff priorities, and the resident’s choice to decline.
  3. Keep boundaries clear. Separate personal information and belongings across residents. Make remote access visible and permissioned.
  4. Clean and hand over. Apply the setting’s approved cleaning and inspection process, with explicit staff acknowledgement of unresolved needs.
  5. Keep service dependable. Coordinate shared charging, maintenance, and task reassignment so support has a clear owner.

When reaching gets harder, ordinary routines can mean waiting for help.

That’s why we’re developing Vynleads Haven: a robot intended to take on everyday care work, so older adults can stay at home later in life. Its uses could extend to people with limited mobility and assisted-living teams.

This is a design concept. The images show proposed behavior; hardware performance and care outcomes still need testing.

The right help depends on the person. One might want a meal brought nearby; another may need hands-on assistance. Contact care and transfers need dedicated specialist development.

Help should leave you with less to manage. That includes charging, privacy, clear controls, and someone responsible when a task cannot be finished.

PAUSE would interrupt the task through a controlled stop. You could cancel, or ask to continue after fresh checks. Emergency STOP is separate. Resetting it would not restart the robot.
